We have just returned from a fantastic trip to the Kruger.
The trip around the Panorama Route and the stay at Stille Woning was great, but the real highlight was the time spent at Jock’s Camp. It is a proper five star experience, and one cannot fault any aspect – fantastic service, great staff, really good food and high class accommodation in an enclosed area imbued with a sense of history of the Kruger itself.

The cherry on the top was the game drives both morning and evening, with an extremely knowledgeable ranger, from whom we learnt a great deal, particularly in relation to the behaviour of the animals and the relationship between predator and prey.
We saw 4 of the Big 5, only missing lion – came close, saw the tracks, but they had disappeared into the bush. Seeing some African wild dogs after a kill was a special experience.

Hello and happy New Year!
I meant to write to you sooner, much was going on in my life (not bad) upon my return from South Africa. I hope this finds you and your families well.
I want to express gratitude for the wonderful vacation that you planned for us! We had an amazing experience for each segment of our trip!
Starting in Johannesburg, the guide that you set up for us was wonderful and we booked him for an additional day to go to the cheetah sanctuary and the elephant sanctuary. A wonderful education with the animals and it was fantastic to get out of the city and see the countryside. The hotel was lovely and very conveniently attached to the mall and great restaurants.
Moving on into Kruger, Rhino Post was so much fun! Thes staff there is wonderful and very interactive. Our guide Marika was the best! I do not know if you have met her but we highly recommend her. We have friends that will be there in June and I have suggested that they try to request her. She is so knowledgeable and communicates in great detail plus, she is fun! Food was delicious! Bronwyn, my birthday surprise and anniversary dinner was spectacular! Also, we did get to see the big 5 and so much more on our first day's safari!
Chitwa Chitwa was lovely and the private preserve offered us the ability to see so much more as they can drive off road. Food was delicious again and the staff was very attentive to all of the guests' needs. The property and the room is beautiful and we looked right out to the water hole where we watched the hippos and elephants.
Maykani Lodge was over the top in beauty, cleanliness, service and safari's! The preserve again being private was so special allowing us to track and drive all over.
Our guide Alphie was excellent as well as his tracker. We saw so much, had wonderful meals (too many, ha) and met delightful guests as we did in each location. We had the pleasure of using the spa, getting amazing massages in between the morning and afternoon. Food was again so delicious as was the South African wine!
We had anniversary surprises at every lodge with candlelight and flowers in our room, so lovely! I would say if I had to pick one place it would be difficult but Maykani is so spectacularly beautiful out in the middle of nowhere it would have our vote. Every safari drive was special and left us in awe.
Cape Town is a lovely city, the hotel was luxurious and the location spectacular. The guides were great! We enjoyed our tours with them, the wine country is beautiful!
Cape of Good Hope has always been a dream for me to experience and it did not disappoint.
Thank you, thank you for helping us experience a trip of a lifetime! We will always treasure the memories and time spent in your lovely country. It was truly a memorable trip, everything I had hoped for. The travel was relatively effortless without any complications. Plenty of sleep on the plane each way Easy rides in the country. Transfers were delightful.
The Motswari is a wonderful lodge. I thought the food was quite good and the accommodations were excellent, including the giraffes nest where the starlit sky was extraordinary. The staff was exceptional and the guests were very enjoyable. The animals were the most memorable part of the time there. Lots of variety and plenty of quantity with surprises here and there.
Cape Town was phenomenal. If I had had a couple more days, I would’ve skipped it and just gone to Botswana. Since I had limited time and a penchant for ease, I kept to my plan. I just love this city. The restaurants were extraordinary. Belly of the Beast was particularly memorable. Reverie Social Table was on a break so that was disappointing. I enjoyed some pretty good African food as well. I had a great mountain bike trip in the nature reserve around Stellenbosch. Moved by Robben Island experience. Great service and accommodation at Villa Zest. Went out to hear jazz two nights at Wine and Grub. Uber drivers were pretty terrific in Cape Town area as well The trip was just a little too short but I am always happy to come home where the beauty and warmth of home life are constants.
Thanks so much for all of the effort that you and Bronwyn put into my trip. This will not be my last trip to Africa hopefully. Take care,

Edgetravel – One month in South Africa and Zimbabwe April 2017.
A trip to South Africa in a wheel chair needs to be planned very carefully. While searching the internet for a rental car with hand controls we ”bumped” into Edgetravel and asked for a full itinerary. We soon got a very good suggestion and after some adjustments we ordered the trip. Edgetravel have a really good way of presenting the tour – with many details and suggestions for what to see.
It was originally planned for autumn 2016 but due to sickness we had to cancel a few hours before take-off. Edgetravel was very helpful and took care of all cancellations and managed to get a lot of refund.
When we were fit for fight again Edgetravel booked the places again and we started the trip in April 2017. The route was Cape Town, Franschhoek, Breede River Valley, Knysna, Hermanus, Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Lukimbi Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls and finally Rovos Rail from Victoria Falls to Pretoria.
All in all, the tour was very well organized – and the places we stayed were very pleasant. Edgetravel had managed to set up a tour that fulfilled all our wishes – and more than that. It was a very good combination of city, driving on our own, nature and animals, luxury and relaxing. We couldn’t have asked for more. We can definitely recommend to use Edgetravel. They are friendly, helpful, professional and they really care that you get a good holiday!!!

Cudos to you for planning a remarkable trip for us. It was absolutely fabulous. The staff were all excellent. Especially our guide Noel at Little Olivers. He was so courteous, sensitive to our desires, a considerate driver, very knowledgeable and also willing to look things up for us if we had a question we did not know the answer to. He still had a sense of wonder about the things we were seeing and this shone through. He stood out amongst the crowd of excellent staffers. Tarangerie was amazing. The elephants were numerous, as were the buffalo. Noel was great with bird spotting and identification. Our walking safari was great. Alex was well schooled and we felt completely safe. The camp was impressive and we were treated to a “honeymoon” dinner on our porch one night.
Gibbs Farm was lovely. We also had a fabulous “honeymoon” meal under the stars with a fire in the outside fireplace. Our guide Eleeza was well informed and friendly. He was a bit older and the “wonder” aspect had rubbed a bit thin. He gave a us a great tour around the lake and the crater, trying to take us to the areas that were not so crowded.
Namiri Plains was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed the large expanses of savannah. Shomeri, who drove us back and forth to the airport, was excellent. He was a great spotter. Again he was young enough to not be jaded by years of guiding (which no doubt is a difficult job given the variety of people they have to deal with). Ernest also provided good driving safaris. We saw an amazing number of cats, both lions and cheetahs and even a serval! The local pride made quite a racket one night which was exciting to hear. We were treated again to a private dinner under the stars.
Sayari was also a great experience. Godson was our guide and he was fun, interested, knowledgable and also an eager learner, always turning to his books when we had a question he could not answer. We saw two migration crossings and 2 black rhinos, as well as a lot of other animals. He also showed us a lot of birds. The camp was lovely and John was a great host.
The flights arrangements all went better than expected. No problems.
Overall the food was very good. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of fresh vegetables and fruit. I did miss chocolate as I do not think we were served any our entire trip. But we did learn to drink Amurula….a great discovery!
This was a truly fabulous trip. I have always wanted to go to Africa. This trip exceeded my expectations.
We are both hooked on Africa and hope to return. We would enjoy being a bit more active next time so we will have to design a trip with more opportunities to walk. Other travelers we met all seemed to think Botswana is the place to go. Frankly, I find it hard to imagine a better trip than this one!

I have been liaising with a gentleman by the name of Thembile with regards to assistance with booking for one of the cruises.
Generally people are very quick to complain but few take the time to compliment when they receive good service.
I would like to say THANK YOU to Thembile for the excellent service he has given me via email and even when I was not sure and I called him, he was always polite and most efficient. Since this is the first time I am doing this I had quite a few questions and even had a change to my booking. He never once moaned or groaned and was always very accommodating. I felt that he had the right to consider me a pest at times because I really took up a lot of is time but NOT once did he do that. He was always just so HELPFUL, polite and efficient in his dealings with me.

I have been liaising with a gentleman by the name of Thembile with regards to assistance with booking for one of the cruises.
Generally people are very quick to complain but few take the time to compliment when they receive good service.
I would like to say THANK YOU to Thembile for the excellent service he has given me via email and even when I was not sure and I called him, he was always polite and most efficient. Since this is the first time I am doing this I had quite a few questions and even had a change to my booking. He never once moaned or groaned and was always very accommodating. I felt that he had the right to consider me a pest at times because I really took up a lot of is time but NOT once did he do that. He was always just so HELPFUL, polite and efficient in his dealings with me.

We are back from Africa safe and sound. Although we are digging out from under a huge backlog of work we wanted to thank you right away for the WONDERFUL vacation experience in South Africa! As you promised, it was truly amazing travel. Seeing the diversity and quantity of wildlife in Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana was breathtaking. Your choices for accommodations were perfect. Through 16 separate flights, multiple boat and car transfers, etc… we were only ever delayed once for a half hour. Please extend our thanks to Edge Travel for making Karen, Annamarie, and myself feel safe and comfortable the whole time we were there.
