You will be collected from your camp by the balloon operator before sunrise, for your spectacular Serengeti balloon safari over the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
From your camp, the drive could be anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes to the launch site.
When you arrive at the launch site, you will meet your pilot and witness the balloon being inflated and prepared for launch.
After a thorough safety briefing and demonstration of boarding and landing position you board your balloon and lift off! Rising as the sun rises your balloon floats in whatever direction the winds of the day are heading.
It is an adventure – even for the balloon pilot. Whereas we know where we have started, we genuinely do not know where we will land as we float in the direction and speed of the wind.
Your pilot will use varying altitudes and layers of air to navigate the balloon. Each Serengeti balloon safari trip is different and unpredictable. Some of the flight may be low, offering a different perspective and at other times your balloon may climb to 1000 feet or more.
Flight time is approximately an hour, depending on conditions.
On landing, the balloon crew set up a full champagne breakfast complete with “Bloody Marys”. Each passenger receives a certificate from their pilot as a special memoir of their flight.
